Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via Patient Online Access, the NHS app or calling 01305 849239 and leaving a message on the answerphone. Alternatively, tick the boxes for the items you require on your prescription and drop into the post box just outside the surgery doors. Please allow three working days so that we can ensure your prescription is ready for collection. Please be aware that Bank Holidays impact on the workload of the dispensary, and remember to order your medication in time.

Better care for carers scheme

We’ve been working hard over the last year to identify and support our carers. We’ve made a submission to the Better Care for Carers Scheme, and are delighted to report that we have been award the Gold award! Find out more: https://www.puddletownsurgery.co.uk/

Bariatric chairs

Pur waiting room chairs hold up to a weight of 22 stone (139Kg). We’ve provided a bariatric chair in the waiting room, one in a treatment room and two in our consulting rooms for patients whose weight exceeds this. Please leave the chair in the waiting room for patients who would prefer to use it. We’ve also purchased a bariatric couch, which is in the main treatment room. If you’re booking an appointment and would like this chair or couch made available to you when seeing the doctor or nurse, please let us know.

Saturday nurse clinics

For your convenience, we now offer Nurse/HCS assistant clinics on Saturday morning several times each month.

Food Bank donations

We continue to support the Puddletown Foodbank. Please drop any donations of suitable foods in the box just inside the main surgery doors. Your donations are very much appreciated by local people.

Books for sale – and wanted

We’re once again accepting donations of good quality books to sell at the surgery. All monies raised are given to NeighbourCar and other local charities. We sell books for £1 each – there are some great titles on the shelf so come and have a look!

NHS Health checks

This is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It’s designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing conditions such as these. The NHS Health Check can spot early signs and help prevent these happening to you – which means you’ll be more likely to enjoy life for longer. If you’re eligible and invited to book a checkup, please contact the surgery to book an appointment.

Keep up with our news online

You can read the latest newsletter on our website.

We also have a Puddletown Surgery Facebook page for sharing information about health promotions, emergencies at the surgery (such as power cuts, snow) and sharing general news from the Primary Care Network. Please don’t use it to book appointments, request medication or ask questions relating to your treatment. Ring 01305 848333 or use eConsult.
