The Memorial Hall provides a suitable venue for all sorts of meetings, events, parties, wedding receptions, funeral wakes, club dinners for example. It is licensed for entertainment for up to 150 people dancing or closely seated, or 75 seated at tables. There is no alcohol licence, which would be the sole responsibilty of the Hirer to obtain if required.

There is a raised stage area available, with simple lighting, and the rear wall is suitable for use as a projection screen. The Hall also has a newly refurbished and extended comprehensive kitchen and outside is a rear garden space suitable for pre-drinks, picnics and so on.

Hire
To hire the hall, including well-equipped kitchen with large dishwasher, contact the Bookings Officer: Ann Ridell or call her on 01300 348161
You can also hire the kitchen, with range cooker and generous worktop space, to prepare food for events elsewhere, like weddings and parties.
Tables, chairs, tea urn and crockery are also available to hire separately for outside events.
Hire prices from 1 January 2025
Hire prices for 2025 remain the same as 2024.
HOURLY RATE – £9/hour
The hourly rate applies to any hire event other than those listed below. The rate applies to the time when the hall is in active use for setting up, holding an event and clearing up afterwards.
- PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS – £27.50 (no charge for short meetings after site visits or if they have more than one meeting in a calendar month).
- GARDENS CLUB SHOWS – £110
- CLUB LUNCHES/SUPPERS – £55 (Lunch Club pay an additional £5.00 for setting up the previous day)
- PRIVATE PARTIES – CHILDREN’S £27.50 – ADULT’S £55.00

The piano hasnt been used for some time, so 6-8 weeks notice would be needed to allow for two tunings and to change the height of the castors (currently unsuitable for play).
