News from the Friends of the School
We would like to thank everyone who has supported our events during the last academic year. We also thank Piddletrenthide Fete Committee for their generous contribution.
Recently, we held some fun events and activities including a Fun Run and a Bingo evening. The children at the school benefitted from the proceeds; they went on various school trips including visits to the Shire Hall Museum and Stonehenge, plus a visit from a bug expert. All the teachers were given funds to get some special things for their classes.
NOVEMBER 23 FIREWORKS DISPLAY
Despite the weather, the fireworks were a success, not only did we make some money for the school (funds will go towards a woodworking club, school trips and a little theatre company to come into the school to do a Christmas performance for the children) but the community came together and we had some fantastic helpers from the village, without them the event would not have been possible. We cannot thank local people enough for their support at this event.
September ’23 – the new school year
Our aim for this new school year is to reconnect the bond between the school and the local community, and welcome everyone to come along and join in with our events. As you may be aware, pupil numbers are lower than previously, therefore our pool of volunteers is not as big as it once was.
