WHO ARE WE?

We’re a ‘general interest club’ which meets monthly from Feb-Dec each year, with indoor meetings in the colder months held on the first Thursday of the month at 2.30pm in the Memorial Hall, Piddletrenthide.
From May-October we travel out & about visiting local places of interest, usually including a trip to the seaside!

CHRISTMAS LUNCH

Twenty two members of the THURSDAY CLUB enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch at THE THIMBLE ahead of its imminent change of ownership.

2025 TRIPS

In the past year we’ve had:

• a mystery tour to the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth
• a day out in Kimmeridge, including a visit to the Etches Museum (the subject of a David Attenborough TV special)
• a talk by Steve from the Oxford Bakery, who’s invited us to a tour of their baker in 2026, followed by lunch in their cafe
• a trailer ride around a local organic farm (possibly the most popular day out to date!) – this will be repeated in 2026
• exploring Godmanstone Church
• We’ve made a visit to a Hazel Coppice known to be home to the elusive Hazel Dormouse etc

Phew, a busy year!

If you would like to join us we’re always welcoming new members and you’ll have the chance to make new friends over the Shared Tea we enjoy at the end of each indoor meeting.

Date for your diary: THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 5 – please arrive by 2.15 for 2.30 start with a plate of something delicious to add to our Tea Table.

Membership is a very reasonable £12 p.a.for the 11 meetings, or if you prefer to just come to occasional meetings, maybe as you still work, the price is just £3 a session..
